About Jim:
Photography has always been an enjoyable and satisfying part of Jim Cannella’s life.
Jim’s interest in photography expanded in the Navy and then heightened while taking photojournalism courses in college. Upon graduation, he was employed as a photographer at a Television Station where his photographic skills excelled to meet the challenges and expectations of his employer and advertising clients.
After completing graduate school and a successful business career in Hospital Medical Devices, he is now devoting his time and focus to photography.
His passion for horses and riding have been with "Goldie," "Diamond Jim" and "Cash."
Jim lives in Salida, Colorado with his wonderful wife Diane and their energized Australian Shepherd, Shelby.
His photographic interests range from the magnificent landscapes of the West, its elegant wildlife, and the Western Culture and Lifestyle he cherishes.
He believes the final photographic image is the pursuit and result of “Capturing That Moment in Time.”
Jim is a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and the Colorado Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA). He was the Official Photographer for the 2019 CPRA Finals.
Cowboys & Indians Magazine selected Jim's photo "Partners" as one of the 2020 Photo Contest Winners in the Western category.
Jim has also been published in Rodeo News Magazine and was the Photo Contest Winner in July 2017.
